Horse Park Foundation
Since 2001, the Idaho Horse Park Foundation, Inc. has been a key partner in the development and ongoing success of the Ford Idaho Horse Park in Nampa, Idaho.
The Idaho Horse Park Foundation’s mission statement is to preserve and protect Idaho’s western heritage by developing a world class equestrian facility with the continuing goal of expanding, maintaining and procuring top-notch equestrian events.
The Ford Idaho Horse Park hosts up to 28 national and regional horse shows that generate $27+ Million tourism dollars to the local Treasure Valley business community each year. The Ford Idaho Horse Park also hosts the Snake River Stampede Rodeo, which is a top PRCA event that generates additional revenue and national acclaim for our community. Horse show participants arrive from all over the United States and Canada. They spend significant dollars on hotels, food, entertainment, clothing, fuel, vehicle maintenance, etc. This is direct revenue to our community and local businesses.
The Foundation has had much success and been a major factor in the development of the horse park facility thus far. We do this through fundraising efforts, such as our bi-annual Equus & Overture Gala slated for October 18, 2024, the sale of arena floor tiles with brand, business or personal information and private donations. We are a 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax deductible.

Shuler Arch
The Schuler family is a prominent dairy family owning Schulerlane Dairy. In memory of Jim Schuler, an avid horseman who owned and raced Thoroughbreds, the Idaho Horse Park Foundation received a donation from his mother in his memory. Mrs. Schuler made a substantial donation and the Schuler Arch was created with the intent to beautify the Horse Park and provide a beautiful area to take win photos for park participants.
Simplot Arch
The Simplot Arch graces the avenue to the 17 acres to the east of the arena. Esther Simplot, an accomplished horsewoman, appreciated the vision to create the Idaho Horse Park. Mrs. Simplots significant donation was instrumental in purchasing the 17 acres that now encompasses outdoor competition arenas and is a beautiful park area to spectate and enjoy many equestrian disciplines.
Union Pacific Caboose
In the early stages of the Idaho Horse Park development, Ken King, public relations, was contacted by a VIP of Union Pacific Railroad. He stated he was a horse enthusiast and had a caboose dating back to the early 1900’s that was not being used any longer and he would donate it for the purpose of turning it into a concession car or announcers booth. It was ours for the taking for free but with the stipulation we had to figure out how to get it onto the property. Not to be deterred, Ken King and Rod Orrison negotiated with a supervisor from the Emmett Railroad site that offered rails and a lift to remove and place it at its current location which he did at no charge also to support the development of the Horse Park.
Les Schwab Corral
The addition of the concession area at the front of the Sports Arena was built by donations from the Idaho Horse Park Foundation, North Nampa Urban Renewal District and the City of Nampa. The architect chosen for the project was Nampa local Stan Olson. He had a vision to compliment the horse park by having natural elements and horse park steeples. The floor tiles in the concession area are the result of a fundraising effort by the Foundation which is still ongoing and a way for individuals to be a permenant part of this great facility.
RV Expansion
The Idaho Horse Park Foundation,Inc. is proud to join the City of Nampa and the Snake River Stampede in launching the RV Park Expansion project adding 60 additional full hook-up RV spaces to the Horse Park. These 60 new spaces, in addition to the existing 44 spaces, will help increase the comfort of our participants during their stay and keep our facility as one of the nation’s top places to hold equestrian events. Groundbreaking was November 3, 2023, and the first phase of the project is expected to be completed for the 2024 season. The second phase, another 28 spaces, is proposed as well as a shower facility and playground which are currently in the fundraising process.
The City of Nampa and Snake River Stampede are proud to join the Horse Park Foundation in launching the RV Park Expansion adding 88 additional full hook up stalls to the Horse Park. This in addition to the existing 44 full hook up stalls will launch the Horse Aprk into the next level of equine competition and show.
Ground breaking is scheudled for November 3 and the project is expected to be completed in Summer of 2023 in time for the 2023 Horse Park Season!

Did You Know: A Message from the Board of Directors
National and regional horse shows at the Idaho Horse Park currently generate $27+ Million tourism dollars to the local Nampa business community each year. These dollars directly help your business! Horse show participants arrive from all over the United States and Canada. They spend significant dollars on hotels, food, entertainment, clothing, fuel, vehicle maintenance, etc. This is direct revenue to your business, which is benefited by these horse shows.
The Idaho Horse Park is located adjacent to the Ford Idaho Center on the Idaho Center campus and attracts competitors, their families, support staff and approximately 6000 horses to Nampa between April and October every year. The Idaho Horse Park Foundation has been a key partner in the development and ongoing success of the Idaho Horse Park.
The primary means of fundraising is our biannual Equus & Overture Gala next slated for October 2024. Since 2006, this event has featured top-notch equestrians performing to live music while approximately 500 guests, including many dignitaries, enjoy dinner and wine. Past musical performances have included the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra, Dueling Pianos and other local artists. Previous equestrian performers have included Olympic level riders and medalists. The event features a silent auction, live auction and other fundraising opportunities. This is where you can help. All proceeds go to the promotion and improvement of the Idaho Horse Park. Sponsorships and donations are 501(c)(3) tax deductible.
Our current goal is the expansion of our RV facilities that will provide much needed additional spaces for our participants. This will increase participant numbers and tourism dollars.
We hope to have you join us for this unique, special evening and are asking for your partnership and participation to benefit not only our city, our community and our state but also your business as well!
